A practical guide to Air Hockey
Read the aim of Air Hockey, then make your first move. Score seven goals before the computer. Look at what changes after your first action. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.
Move your paddle against a computer opponent and score through the opposite goal.
Build familiarity through play
After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Make the next step deliberately.
Aim for this result
Score seven goals before the computer. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Start with a deliberate move.
How a round unfolds
- Start.
- Move your mallet within the lower half.
- Strike toward the upper goal.
- Goals reset the puck.
How to interact with the game
Mouse/touch movement or Left/Right controls. Read a button’s label before selecting it. A new-round button replaces the current round.
An example to follow
An angled hit can bank off a side wall. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Verify the rule before continuing.
A mistake to avoid
You cannot move into the computer’s half. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
